Airedale Terrier lovers started to come by this week to see their new family members in person. This is the first male Airedale puppy to be selected. We called him Mr. Orange, Big O and The Tank, . . . he was the biggest of our six male puppies.

Airedale Puppy Art

Airedale Puppy Art at six weeks old

These pictures of the Airedale Terrier puppies were taken at my home here in San Diego California. The mom, Annie, is 4 1/2 years old and weighs approximately 53 1/2 pounds. Annie hooked up with Jack, who is five years old and weighs between 75 and 80 pounds. Exactly 63 days after their hook up Annie gave birth to these adorable Airedale puppies.

Airedale Terrier Puppies Six Weeks Old

Three male Airedale Terrier puppies six weeks old

This is the second of two videos featuring our six week old male Airedale puppies venturing outside for the first time. Our female AKC registered Airedale Terrier (Annie 4.5 years old) had a total of nine puppies, six of which were males and three females. My prior video showed the first set of three emails outside for the first time, and this video shows the other three male Airedale puppies going outside.

All nine puppies were born in our living room and until today had not been outside. I guess I decided to be cautious and wait until they had their first of three inoculations before having them go outside. Read more

California Airedale Terrier Puppies

California Airedale Terrier Puppies at six weeks old

This video shows three of our six male Airedale Terrier puppies at six weeks old. These puppies were born in our house, and this is the first time that they’ve been outside. I’m pretty sure it was the new outside environment that had a dramatic affect on all these puppies. It seems like they are different puppies compared to having them on the inside. Outside, the puppy seems very subdued and cautious compared to their inside boisterous activity levels.

Today, is the six week old birthday for these puppies. Yesterday, they had their first of three vaccinations and up to now they were born and have been raised in our living room.

This is the first time they seen the outside world and naturally are extremely curious. Read more

Airedale Puppy Love

Airedale Puppy Love

It’s clear from my last video of these Airedale Terrier puppies playing, that people like to watch these little guys as they’re having fun. So, is your second video of my nine, 4 1/2 week old Airedale Terriers playing in my home in San Diego California.

Really, who is not going to get cheered up just watching a couple minutes of these guys romping around? If there was somebody like that, I don’t think they’d be a friend of mine.

I don’t know if they still have it, but I remember around the holidays, one of the local TV channels would play hours of just a log burning in the fireplace. I guess this is my equivalent to that holiday log, nine little Airedale puppies just having fun! Read more

Airedale Terrier puppies at play

Airedale Terrier puppies at play

4 1/2 week old Airedale Terrier puppies playing here in San Diego California. These nine puppies are in the process of transitioning from feeding from their mom to puppy food that’s been soaked in goats milk.

After they eat, they usually time for socializing and play. At 4 1/2 weeks old, they’re just at the time when their teeth are starting to come in. These little baby Airedale teeth are very sharp, and sometimes in their puppy roughhousing there’s a yelp or two. Read more

Airedale Puppy Tail Docking

Airedale Puppy Tail Docking

Two day old Airedale Terriers at the Vet for tail docking and Dewclaw removal.

This is what the AKC says on the subject of tail docking and dewclaw removal: Many owners of specific breeds wish to maintain their dog’s historic practical function by having their puppy’s ears cropped, tails docked, or dewclaws removed. While some unfamiliar with the breeds believe that this is purely aesthetic, these procedures actually enhance the dog’s ability to perform the tasks it is meant to do. Read more

California Airedale Puppies 4 Weeks Old

California Airedale Puppies  4 Weeks Old

4 week old Airedale puppies playing here in San Diego California.

Yesterday was the puppies four week old birthday! Annie, the Mom, had nine puppies, three females and six males.

Of the nine puppies, we only had three females. Here are their photos, from left to right, the colors are: yellow, red and purple.

The birthing pen, was left open so any could enter and exit any time she wanted. To keep the puppies in we put a small corrugated plastic separator between the gates, so Annie could just step over this to enter, but the puppies couldn’t get over it to get out. Read more
