New human companions select their California Airedale Terrier puppies

Airedale Terrier lovers started to come by this week to see their new family members in person. This is the first male Airedale puppy to be selected. We called him Mr. Orange, Big O and The Tank, . . . he was the biggest of our six male puppies.

Regan will be living in Claremont California. Claremont is a city on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County, California. I’m hoping that sometime in the near future, when Judy and I and any are in the LA area we might be able to meet up with Regan again, for a mother son reunion.

I’m going to head off probably what could be the most asked question about this photo, Regan’s new human companions are all bundled up because the last few weeks here in San Diego, it’s been rainy and much cooler than normal . . . At least for San Diego that means morning temperatures in the low 40s quickly heating up to the mid to upper 60s. Yes, I know where spoiled out here!

Mr. Orange – Airedale Terrier puppy

1. Airedale Terriers are considered the “King of Terriers” because they are the largest terrier breed.

2. Airedale Terriers are smart dogs and respond best to short, frequent training sessions.

3. Airedale Terriers make great family pets if they are socialized and taught good manners as a puppy.

4. Airedale Terriers have a bright and funny personality and are considered to be comedians of the dog world.

5. Airedale Terriers do not shed much, provided they get proper grooming.

President Roosevelt claimed that “An Airedale can do anything any other dog can do and then lick the other dog, if he has to.“

1949 marked the peak of the Airedales’ popularity in the USA, ranked 20th out of 110 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.
