California Dog Hiking Danger
California Dog Hiking Danger – In the Danger Zone
Today about 10:30AM at Mission Trails Regional Park I saw the third rattlesnake for this year. Hiking with my two Airedale Terriers here in San Diego, seeing rattlesnakes on the trails is common. The first on I saw was on the Barker Way Trail on Cowles Mountain, the second one was on the walking path around Lake Murray. So, today’s sighting was not unexpected. But, today, I made an almost fatal mistake that could have taken out one or both of my dogs. Read more

Airedale Terrier idea
An idea for your Airedale Terriers
I should really say this is probably safe for all pets and also it’s not my original idea. Occasionally, when my two Airedales are in the backyard they’ll eat some of the grass and weeds that pop up, especially after the heavy rains we had here in San Diego.
Sure I can spray on some type of weed-killer poison, but I really don’t think this is a good idea when you have any type of pets out in your backyard. Read more

17 years I’ve be hiking up this (Cowles Mtn.) mountain with Airedales. We have taken in many great sunsets over the Pacific, but until December 12th., we never did a sunrise hike. This is our larger Airedale Terrier sunrise hike on Cowles Mountain in San Diego California.
These larger Airedales are also known as Mountain Airedales because of their size. But, they certainly look forward to and enjoy all our mountain hikes. Read more

Larger Airedale Terriers
Larger Airedale Terriers talking
My two larger Airedale Terriers, Annie and Oakley. Airedale Terriers are great, perhaps the greatest dog ever, but, the larger Airedale Terrier is definitely the king of the Terriers!
Airedales weigh approximately 50-80 pounds, being active and agile enough to perform well, while not too small to function as a physical deterrent, retriever or hunter. Some breeders have produced larger Airedale Terriers, such as the ‘Oorang Airedale’, developed in the 1920s. Read more
