Large Airedale Terrier puppies yes the puppy shown here were born to Happy (and 88 lb AKC Airedale Terrier) and Hitch (115Lbs) AKC Airedale Terrier.

Finding these large Airedale Terriers is really quite difficult. All those of these large Airedale Terriers are AKC registered they cannot be entered into any AKC shows because they are out of the Airedale specifications for height and weight.

It’s been a long time, and perhaps one of these days the AKC will finally approve specifications for the larger Airedale Terriers.

Now, please understand I’m not taking away anything from the regular Airedale Terriers, I just think that it’s time that there was a new AKC guideline for these larger dogs. Now, this is not without precedent within the AKC. Some may not realize this but the Schnauzer breed actually has three AKC specifications for standards. Yes, there is a Miniature Schnauzer, a regular Schnauzer and the Giant Schnauzer, all three have been approved by the AKC and have separate standards.

Naturally, I’m biased but having own both the regular size Airedale Terrier and the larger Airedale Terriers, I can honestly say that I think the larger Airedale Terrier is the ideal size Airedale!

Airedales are truly one of a kind! Long love the King! Yes, the Airedale Terriers are lovely-natured charismatic dogs and really affectionate too! Plus, the Airedale is VERY smart and fun loving! Airedales have wonderful dispositions and are easily trained. The Airedale Terrier, the largest member of the terrier group, is known to admirers as the King of Terriers. They have broad versatility, intelligence, and unswerving loyalty.
