Airedale Terrier puppy talking

I used special animation software, that allowed me to take a photograph of this seven week old male Airedale puppy and not only animate it, but also lip-synch the audio file to its mouth movements. Yes, sometimes I have too much time on my hands. But, then again who has seen an Airedale Terrier puppy talking at just seven weeks old?

This is a seven week old male Airedale puppy that was born here in San Diego California. This was our female Airedale Terrier Annie’s first litter. She had nine puppies born from about 3:30 in the afternoon to 11:30 in the evening on January 2.

Now that all the puppies have been weaned off their mom, have been de-wormed and started to receive their required shots, in just another week, when they are eight weeks old they’ll be going to their new forever homes.

Taking care of nine Airedale Terrier puppies from birth and so far through week seven, has been much more work than we ever anticipated. But, it’s also really been an experience to watch these puppies grow and develop from the moment of birth, through getting ready to experience the world on their own and to bring lots of joy and love to their new human family members.

I believe the Airedale Terrier is the best dog anyone can own. They are very smart, easy to train, loyal, and protective of their human families. But what really sets the Airedale Terrier apart from most other dogs, is the fact that they are super playful and have a sense of goofy humor about them.

Naturally, if you’re Airedale Terrier is properly socialized they will get along splendidly with other dogs and animals. Yes, you could be walking your Airedale Terrier by other dogs out on the trail, and usually there is no reaction at all when passing by these other dogs. But, with that said, if the other dogs bark at your Airedale, your Airedale is not going to just walk by without barking back. Yes, it’s been my experience, that if raised properly, and socialized with other animals, your Airedale Terrier will have absolutely no problem getting along. But, if other dogs act aggressively toward your Airedale, at least it’s been my experience, that my Airedales will not just walk by or sit there and take it, they will bark back.

Actually, on one hike with my male Airedale, a lady on the trail lost control of her dog and it charged toward my Airedale. When the other dog was almost on top of my Airedale, my dog jumped up and twisted around in such a way, that he pinned the other dogs head to the ground while biting it in the back of the neck. The whole incident was over in a couple of seconds as the other dog whimpered and ran down the trail.

I’m not sure of my Airedale Terrier was defending himself or also defending any and myself from this other aggressive dog. But, it is instinctive for the Airedale Terrier to stand its ground and protected it’s human family … this is well documented.

President Roosevelt claimed that “An Airedale can do anything any other dog can do and then lick the other dog, if he has to.

1949 marked the peak of the Airedales’ popularity in the USA, ranked 20th out of 110 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.
