Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park

This off-leash dog park is located in the Encinitas Community Park. This is the first time Teddy, our 12 week old larger Airedale puppy had been to a dog park. There is a short video – Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park:

Our other Airedale Terrier is Annie, who is five years old.

Both Annie and Teddy had a great time at this off leash dog park. For Teddy, for his size and age, I was surprised that he seemed fearless with all the other larger dogs.

Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park

When we got Teddy at eight weeks old we gave him his second vaccination and then at 12 weeks old we gave him his third vaccination. These vaccinations protect puppies against a lot of viruses. The most important of which is Parvo. Parvo is airborne and very contagious and deadly for puppies. So, until the third vaccination, we didn’t want Teddy socializing or going where other dogs have gone before.

Here in Southern California, we’ve been to a lot of dog parks. But, I have to say that this Encinitas dog Park, is the nicest we’ve ever been to. Besides being a huge grassy area, there is agility equipment for the dogs and two separate areas for smaller dogs.

The entire park is very large, the off leash dog areas just a small part. One of the other interesting parts of this park is a large skateboard park for kids. Personally, I thought it was interesting that the skateboard park was next door to a big medical facility.

One other feature that I’d like to mention, is the fact that this is located pretty close to the ocean. So, in the summer, the temperatures here should be very moderate for both you and your pet.

If you’re in the San Diego County area, I would definitely recommend that you take your Airedale Terrier to this great park.
