Airedale Terriers

Airedale Terriers

My wife has allergies to cats & dogs. We now  have two Mountain Airedales, and the wife has no issues with them.  They are overall a smart dogs, but you should always spend time training them, they can be destructive if not.

My Airedales will bark at home when someone is outside (or a cat) and alert us if something isn’t right in their eyes.  Although they both are very smart, dogs don’t understand friends and family and strangers.  If it is someone they have not met before, they will consider them a stranger.  If you want him / her to be a guard dog (basically just bark at what is outside) they are good for it, but if you want a protection dog, they need some training.
