Airedale Terrier Agility

Airedale Terrier Agility

This is a great video not only showing how agile an Airedale Terrier can be, but also showing how smart they are and eager to please their human companions.

From my own experience, having owned 6 Airedales now, I can say they’re very smart and usually easy to train. They just love pleasing their human companions. Read more »

Airedale thoughts

Airedale thoughts

larger Airedale Terrier puppies

With today’s high price of gas and Diesel,  various shortages popping up,  I think it might be prudent to stock up on a couple of large bags of your favorite Airedale kibble.  I’ve already seen Costco stop stocking one brands of dog food and it seems like all their prices really jumped up. What would you do to protect your Airedale Terrier?

I try to take my two Airedale terriers out on a hike, park, walk in town and around town, at least six days a week.

California Mountain Airedales - Protect your Airedale Terrier

Keeping in mind the Boy Scout’s saying of being prepared, and having had a few close calls and one actual attack on my prior Airedale Terrier, I try to be prepared to protect my dogs should the unexpected occur.

On yesterday’s hike with Annie and Teddy as we were going up the Cowles Mountain trail, a guy was coming down with his large dog off leash. As he got to about 10 feet from us he grabbed his dogs collar and hung on to it as we passed each other. Then, when he was a little farther down the trail I looked back and saw he released his dog again, as they were continuing down the trail. Read more »

Better late than never – Airedale Terrier News

Annie – larger Airedale Terrier

After Annie gave birth last year to nine beautiful puppies on January 2, 2019, her next heat was almost exactly 6 months later. So, I expected her second heat after giving birth to be about 2 1/2 months ago. I guess nature really doesn’t care what I think, because it took another approximately 2 1/2 months before and she went into heat. Read more »

Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park

Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park

This off-leash dog park is located in the Encinitas Community Park. This is the first time Teddy, our 12 week old larger Airedale puppy had been to a dog park. There is a short video – Airedale Terrier Puppy Dog Park:

Our other Airedale Terrier is Annie, who is five years old.

Both Annie and Teddy had a great time at this off leash dog park. For Teddy, for his size and age, I was surprised that he seemed fearless with all the other larger dogs. Read more »

Airedale Terrier puppy talking

Airedale Terrier puppy talking

I used special animation software, that allowed me to take a photograph of this seven week old male Airedale puppy and not only animate it, but also lip-synch the audio file to its mouth movements. Yes, sometimes I have too much time on my hands. But, then again who has seen an Airedale Terrier puppy talking at just seven weeks old?

This is a seven week old male Airedale puppy that was born here in San Diego California. This was our female Airedale Terrier Annie’s first litter. She had nine puppies born from about 3:30 in the afternoon to 11:30 in the evening on January 2.
